t is with great sorrow that us, the members of MAD for Swing, have decided to cancel this year’s Madrid Lindy Exchange and refund the cost of the tickets to those who had registered and already paid. We’ll be back in May 2021 with fresh energies and a re-edited programme .
La séptima edición del Madrid Lindy Exchange, organizada por MAD for Swing, la Asociación de Swing de Madrid se celebrará los días 21, 22, 23 y 24 de mayo de 2020.
Madrid Lindy Exchange es la celebración del swing madrileño. La comunidad de hoppers de Madrid abre sus brazos para recibir a compañeros bailarines de todas partes y para compartir con ellos el estilo de vida de una ciudad abierta, activa, bulliciosa y acogedora. Madrid ejercerá esos días de epicentro del swing: será escenario de fiestas con música en directo, baile en la calle, exhibiciones e infinidad de actividades pensadas y diseñadas para disfrutar al máximo de esta ciudad, que siempre tiene algo interesante que ofrecer.
Música en vivo, baile, rutas turísticas y tapeo conforman un programa tan apetecible que ya ha convocado a más de dos millares de hoppers de otros lugares en las anteriores ediciones del evento. Además, Madrid Lindy Exchange contará también con las escuelas y músicos de Madrid, cuya contribución es imprescindible como actores fundamentales de la escena swing.
Madrid Lindy Exchange es una oportunidad única para vivir el swing como lo vivimos en Madrid. ¡Ven a conocernos! Y si ya nos conoces, estamos seguros de que querrás volver.
The 7th edition of Madrid Lindy Exchange, organized by MAD for Swing (Madrid’s swing association), will take place on the 21th, 22th, 23th and 24th of May 2020
Madrid Lindy Exchange is a celebration of swing – Madrid style! Madrid swing community welcomes dancers from all over the world with open arms to share with them this city’s active, friendly, lively and world famous lifestyle. Madrid will be the focus of swing activity those days, hosting parties with live music, daytime outdoors swing dance, performances and countless activities designed to get the most out of this city, which has always something interesting to offer.
Live music, dance, tourism and tapas define our attractive program that has already brought over one thousand hoppers from other places in the past editions of the event. Moreover, Madrid swing dance schools and musicians will of course be a very important part of Madrid Lindy Exchange, since they play an essential role thanks to their major contribution to the Madrid swing scene.
Madrid Lindy Exchange is a unique opportunity to enjoy swing dance as we experience it here in Madrid. Come meet us! And if you already know us, we are sure you can’t wait to come back.
Qué hay en Madrid Lindy Exchange
Música en directo
Madrid Lindy Exchange contará con los músicos de swing de la ciudad, que estarán presentes en bailes en la calle, jams, conciertos y fiestas.
Baile en la calle
El baile en la calle y los clandestinos en espacios abiertos y gratuitos son parte de la identidad de MAD for Swing y no podían faltar en Madrid Lindy Exchange. Con motivo de Madrid Lindy Exchange, nuestros bailes y quedadas en la calle, serán con banda en vivo.
Jueves por la noche, sábado por la mañana y el domingo, tendremos sesión de baile en lugares abiertos con banda.
Tasters
Todas las escuelas de swing de Madrid en el VII Madrid Lindy Exchange. Cada día nos mostrarán un aspecto diferente del swing inspirándose en una idea común.
No son solo tasters o clases cortas sino nuevas ideas inspiradoras para nuestro baile y nuestro sentido musical.

What is Madrid Lindy Exchange?
Live music
Local swing musicians will of course play live at Madrid Lindy Exchange at jams, street dancing, concerts and parties.
Street dancing
Street dance (our very own daytime outdoors swing dance parties) and clandestinos are part of MAD for Swing’s identity. Therefore we will host a few during Madrid Lindy Exchange with live music. Mark your calendars! They will be held on Thursday’s night, Saturday morning and Sunday!
Tasters
All the schools of swing in Madrid have committed to participate in the VII Madrid Lindy Exchange. One or more tasters every day; they will show different styles of dance and explain tricks and movements to give more style to our swing dance and understanding of musicality.

The 7th Madrid Lindy Exchange parties and tasters will take place in some of the most stunning buildings of the city center.

Who are the best social dancers at Madrid Lindy Exchange? We will find out at our Mix&Match contest competition, which will choose the impromptu dance couple which best represents the authentic social swing dance spirit

Hosting
Receiving dancers from other communities and giving them the warmest welcome and hospitality is one of the aims of any swing exchange. We will try to accommodate all dancers requesting hosting. That is why we reserve half of the tickets of Madrid Lindy Exchange to dancers from other cities and countries!
In the past editions, the ratio of hosts and guests played out really well and nobody had to sleep under the Manzanares river bridges! 😉
